Who is Dustin?
Dustin Bertrand is a dynamic speaker, youth minister, and evangelist. He has a degree in psychology and a minor in criminal justice. He has a Masters in Theology and Christian Ministry from Franciscan University of Steubenville Ohio. He has a background in collegiate sports, professional caddying, and has spent time at St. Bens Seminary college in Covington, LA. Dustin has been evangelizing for 12 years in South Louisiana and has created a ministry called God Made Self Driven. He has spoken at multiple universities, schools, and churches throughout Louisiana. Dustin has impacted thousands of people since starting to evangelize in 2013.
In 2019, Dustin self-published a book called "The First Thirty". It is an open and honest journey of the first thirty years of his life. The journey consists of uncontrollable situations that altered the course of his life, along with encounters with Christ which eventually overshadowed his pain with grace.
Dustin uses his experiences and unique personal testimony to be authentic in his involvement with people. He has an openness and charisma about himself that is attractive to his peers and the youth. As a southern man with multiple ethnicities, he brings a unique flair to his faith and ministry. Dustin is passionate about God's love, faithfulness, and enduring mercy. He has this fire to challenge people to be proactive in their faith and embrace God's plan for them through the power of the Holy Spirit.
How will Dustin reach others?
My approach to evangelization is the E.T.A framework.
Encounter: It is important to foster an atmosphere where the person of Jesus can be encountered in an intimate way either by preaching, testifying, exhorting, witnessing in love or gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Teach: It is essential once an individual encounters Christ, that Truth becomes the bonding agent of the encounter. Thankful for the history of the Church, Catholic Tradition and Sacred Scriptures gives us an abundance of that Truth.
Accompany: Following the model and command of Jesus to make disciples of all nations. Believers are to accompany each other in their journeys as we bear each other’s burdens. No man is an island and we have an obligation to help form disciples once we have become one!
“ I have taken this framework in combination with the gifts God has given me and implemented them during Iconferences, retreats, missions, presentations and discipleship. I have witnessed supernatural fruit in many lives and humbled to be used by God in this endeavor! The Holy Spirit is what fosters the efficacy of this framework and devotion to the power of the Spirit is a non-negotiable in all the ministries work. “ -Dustin Bertrand
